ICU and Respiratory Leaders Announced

NewsSierra Medical Center welcomes our new ICU and Respiratory Leaders: Stacy Springgate, RN, BSN and Melanie Adair, RRT, BSRT.
Stacy Springgate, RN, BSN brings 17 years of clinical nursing leadership to her role as director of intensive care. Stacy earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2014. She began her career as a neurosurgical registered nurse at the University of Iowa Hospital. She then moved to Reno and joined the intensive care unit. In her prior role as a CCU unit supervisor, Stacy earned the Clinical Leader of the Year and Daisy Team awards.
She led her team to earn distinctions as a top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital and for 5-start treatment for heart attack and sepsis. Stacy earned a CCRN certification which is designed for nurses who provide direct care to acutely/critically ill adult patients.
Melanie Adair, RRT, BSRT has worked in healthcare for over 15 years and joins the team as manager of respiratory therapy. Melanie graduated from Independence University with a Bachelor of Science in respiratory care advanced clinical practice. Her prior roles include: respiratory therapist, staff respiratory therapist and working in pediatric intensive care and emergency medicine. This lead to her leadership roles as a respiratory therapy clinical supervisor and department manager at a local hospital.
She has experience in all facets of respiratory therapy and takes pride in promoting continuing education and best practices. Melanie has dedicated her career to patient care and ensuring her patients receive education and support during their hospital stay. Melanie resides in Minden with her husband and three children. She is an avid outdoorsman and loves camping, hiking and exploring with her family in the beautiful Nevada outdoors.
